Another marker relating to early Stoughton history is a granite marker inside for Punkapoag and Canton, Massachusetts with the incorrect date of 1650 (should read 1657).   This also in inscribed with an incorrect date for the incorporation of Canton in 1795 (should read 1797).

And the former district of Stoughtonham now Sharon, Massachusetts has an incorrect marker with the date of 1630 for the incorporation of Dorchester instead of the date of Sharon's incorporation.
